The Branch held it's Annual General Meeting at the Framwellgate Community Centre in Framwellgate Moor on 15 May 2008. The meeting elected Trustees to look after the affairs of the Branch for the coming year and agreed the 2005 accounts and Trustees Report, 2006 accounts and Trustees Report. The 2007 Accounts are now available here.
The Branch is run entirely by volunteers. New volunteers are always required. If you wish to volunteer please follow the link here.
The branch held an auction of items on Saturday 22 September 2007 at the Framwellgate Community Centre in Framwellgate Moor. The auction raised over £900. We will be holding another auction on Saturday 13 September 2008 at the Framwellgate Moor Community Centre.
The Christmas Fair was held on Saturday 1 December 2007 at the North Road Methodist Chapel, next to the bus Station in Durham. The fair was opened by Oliver the RSPCA Local and National Dog of the Year 2007, see picture below. The fair was a great success and raised over £700. The Christmas fair will be held on Saturday 6 December 2008 at the North Road Methodist Chapel, next to the bus Station in Durham between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm.
The Branch held an Open day and dog show again at Deerness Kennels on Sunday 8 July 2007, this years show was held on 13 July 2008 at 2.00 pm again including a dog show.
RSPCA week held between 28 April and 4 May 2008 and a collection at Tesco's at Dragonville, Durham raised over £1600.
A street collection was held in Durham on Saturday 21 July 2007, £222.04 was collected.
The Branch produce a quarterly newsletter, the Summer 2008 edition is now available, the Spring 2008 edition is now available and the Summer 2007 edition is available as the Summer 2007 Newsletter is available here as page 1 and 2.
If you would like to make a donation to the branch cheques, made out to RSPCA Durham & District, can be sent C/O 41 Norwich Road, Newton Hall, Durham, DH1 5QA. The Branch has an Adopt a Kennel scheme to raise funds to help maintain both cats and dogs awaiting rehoming. If you would like to help the branch, a standing order for can be produced by printing the Adopt a Kennel form (which is a four page A5 booklet) and completing page 2 and returning to the address on that page and the standing order form on page 4 and passing that to your own bank.
